We modify our techniques to ensure safety when adjusting children. Dr Leanne has completed 2 years of post-graduate training (DACCP) and is an Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor (ACCP).
Dr Maddilyn is currently completing her 2 year DACCP.

CHIROPRACTIC CARE FOR INFANTS
Was your babies’ delivery long or extremely fast? Did they get “stuck” at any point? Did your baby need forceps, suction or emergency c-section to enter the world? Research shows that a large baby (4-4.5kg) and instrumental (forceps or suction) delivery are major risk factors for birth injuries. Even if your birth wasn’t difficult or traumatic, babies may be restricted in the womb which could affect their bodies’ ability to function at its best.
Is your baby feeding well? Do they seem to hold their head in one position or have difficulty moving to one side? Are they developing a flat spot on their head? Do you find it difficult to settle them to sleep or do they have short sleep cycles? Do they hate tummy time? Do they have digestive issues? Many of these issues may be caused by restriction within the body and may respond well to chiropractic care.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE FOR CHILDREN
Did you know that up to the age of 3 years old, your child’s brain will undergo most of its development? Just like you’d stake a tree if it was growing crooked, assessing and treating children may stimulate optimal growth and brain development.
Research shows that optimal motor development (crawling, walking, etc) is related to later cognition and language skills. Movement stimulates the brain which leads to cortical (brain) development. Meaning that if children aren’t moving enough, or have restriction in their body that impairs movement, this may affect brain development. Chiropractic adjustments may help the brain to integrate this information and support optimal development. Many developmental issues are not picked up until children are at school. An Advanced Paediatric Chiropractor (ACCP) is trained to assess detailed aspects about your child’s development and discuss possible interventions if indicated.
